New company launch proves start-ups must avoid back-to-front marketing

Marketing strategy is the key to success for new companies recommends independent marketing consultancy, JT Marketing Services, which has just helped to successfully launch an innovative new start-up company MRCS.
Joseph Tirelli, Director at JT Marketing Services, which provides advice to organisations in London, Herts, Cambs and Essex, says: ‘We are finding that many new start-ups tend to do things back to front. They first focus on deciding their logo designs, web sites etc., rather than giving priority to analysing what sets them apart from the competition, what selling proposition they are offering and crucially who are the customers they need to target, in order to achieve their financial goals’.
The consultancy has just helped to launch MRCS (Managed Revenue Collection Services), an exciting new concept that will provide innovative solutions for Local Authorities and other Public Sector Organisations. This managed service will maximise Council Revenues in recovering unpaid Council Tax, Business Rates and Miscellaneous Income, as well as other Public Sector Debts.
Joseph Tirelli says ‘We provided our client MRCS with a strong marketing strategy and a clear marketing plan. At their request our company also selected and project managed quality graphic and web design companies that met their budget.’
Peter Vallis MRCS MD says 'JT Marketing Services was awarded the contract because of their strength in strategic marketing and their independence. They helped us communicate how we are unique in the market. We had to educate and explain that we provide a comprehensive managed and monitoring service to help Local Authority Revenues Managers enhance all aspects of their externally provided services, including supplier sourcing and collection and administration performance. Furthermore, our managed service is at no additional cost to the Authority. JT Marketing Services understood our needs very quickly and their focus on getting the strategy right first, helped everything else fall into place. The consultancy’s choice of selected partners in producing the new corporate identity and web site was perfect in terms of quality and budget.’
Joseph Tirelli says ‘Our independence means that we are able to provide business advice with no vested interests. We are not tied to any supplier including production or design organisations. If requested, we will source and project manage the best available specialists in their area of expertise on behalf of the client’.
As illustration, JT Marketing Services provided MRCS with advice on the key critical areas of s trategy, planning and market positioning.
‘This enabled us to work with the client to develop a brief to create a very credible selling proposition and brand’, adds Tirelli. ’We managed the suppliers to ensure that the corporate identity was consistent throughout and, together with our experts, advised on web site development and search engine optimisation. To maximise the budget, our marketing consultancy undertook the responsibility for media management on behalf of the client.'
`Our versatility enabled us to produce in-house, all copy and content for web pages, Ebroadcasts and press releases. We are very pleased to have been involved with this launch. We believe that MRCS in first concentrating on the development of the right strategy and then execution of the marketing plan will enhance its future success’.
